On Thurs May 21, WillowWood School hosted our annual Sponsor Appreciation night, and oh what a night it was! This event has become a highlight for all who attend. The format of this year’s event was a departure from previous years and was met with rave reviews from sponsors, participating schools and families alike.

Our guests were treated to special performance which opened the evening. Evan Posserman, a grade 4 student from Crestwood led us in song and his amazing pianist talents. He, along with his own entourage which included Canadian beat boxer and break-dancer, brought awareness to Unity. This charity empowers youth to use artistic self-expression to make positive changes in their communities.

It was a tough act to follow, but our amazing array of students did not disappoint. Students from a broad selection of schools across the city, set up their own booths to feature their chosen charities and events. Our guests enjoyed chatting with our students while taking part in the PGB experience first-hand. The evening was capped off with inspiring speeches from two former PGB students who taught us that the benefits of the program far surpass the school year in which they participate in the program. Sam Kaplun and July Dorman proved that PGB is just a spring board for a journey in becoming compassioned, global citizens.

It truly was a celebration of all that can be achieved and it is a direct result of our sponsors that we can provide such an incredible learning experience. We feel so blessed to have such generous sponsor support and it is with great honour that we can share our student’s pride and accomplishments.

To all sponsors and donors, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
